Real Estate Photography Workshops
Gary Kasl is a formally trained photographer based in San Diego, California. He specializes in architectural photography but Gary got his start with portraits and event photography. His diversity has helped him excel in other genres as well, such as products, food and lifestyle photography. He’s won numerous local awards and most notably, won the PFRE Photographer of the Month Contest 3 times.
Gary is most well known in his market for shooting mega mansions and ultra luxury homes. He also has a great understanding of how to stay relevant in a competitive market by working fast and efficiently while keeping the high quality consistent.
Recently, he’s turned to helping other photographers gain a better understanding of the craft by doing one on one coaching and hosting workshops. He also created the “Run N’ Gun Workflow” tutorial for real estate photography, which has helped hundreds of photographers improve their quality while also making them faster and more efficient.
When Gary’s not working, he’s probably at a brewery or a new restaurant with his wife, Mary. They’re big foodies and they love craft cocktails & beer. They also have a french bulldog named Hairy Larry (yes, that’s right, Gary, Mary & Hairy Larry) and you’ll probably meet all three at the workshop!
Location: San Diego, CA. The venue has not been secured yet but we will update you as soon as
DAY 1: After a short introduction, we will tour the space and start going over the shooting process. We will break down every scene and touch on compositions, lighting and capturing the ingredients we will need for processing. As the light changes, we will go over the different ways to maximize usage of the natural light to create stunning images with minimal to no flash.
BONUS TWILIGHT SESSION: I’ll demonstrate how to do light painting for Twilights. (This should be fun!)
DAY 2: We will focus on processing for the majority of this day. I’ll show you how to take what we gathered the previous day and turn it into the stunning images we set out to create. I hope to incorporate some breaks and some time for open shooting as well.
FOOD: Breakfast and Lunch will be provided both days. Please note any food allergies or concerns when filling out the form.
TRANSPORTATION: Will NOT be provided. We have Lyft and Uber services in the area and I recommend utilizing them to get around.
ACCOMMODATIONS: Will NOT be provided but we can make recommendations if needed. The venue has not been secured yet but we will update you when it is and I’d suggest staying close to there if possible.
"I will go over my approach to capturing a scene from start to finish. I'll explain my thoughts on composition & lighting throughout the process and I'll be able to answer questions as they come up. Then I'll take you through my personal editing process and show you exactly how I get the right look for each image."
